Introduction

Pulses are nature’s bounty of health and well-being. Being naturally high in proteins, amino acids and various minerals like zinc, magnesium, iron and phosphorous, pulses form part of any recommended diet. Add to it the fact that they have nearly zero fat and cholesterol and one would be hard-pressed to find a reason to not consume them.

ETG annually handles over 1.5 MMT of pulses from over 25 of the world’s largest pulse origins. We can procure nearly any pulse from any country in the world and with support from over 24 processing facilities in different parts of the world, deliver it to our customers whole, cleaned, de-hulled, split or milled.

Green Mung Beans

Mung beans are high-protein legumes widely used for various applications. They can be sprouted or roasted for a healthy snack, cooked and consumed as part of a daily meal, its starch can be used for making glass noodles, macarons and other commonplace food products. It is also a rapidly growing source of pulse protein isolates.

ETG Origins – Australia, China, Kenya, Myanmar, Tanzania, Uzbekistan. Subject to trade restrictions and product availability, we can also supply beans from Mozambique and India.

Yellow Peas

China imports over 2 MMT of yellow peas annually, mainly for extraction of starch and protein for human consumption and for direct use in feed applications. In East India and Bangladesh, dried peas are cooked and consumed as ‘dal’. In countries like Canada and USA, local consumption is mainly in the form of feed due to the great nutritional attributes and relatively low price of the pulse

ETG Origins – Canada, USA and Russia, which together represent most of the global yellow pea production. We can also procure peas from the Black Sea region, mainly Ukraine
